Intimate Destination Wedding at La Collina dei Nebrodi in Sicily, Italy
Cayenne + Luke had a romantic Sicilian wedding at the top of the Nebrodi mountains, with a breathtaking view of San Marco d’Alunzio. Their closest family and friends ventured to Sicily for an adventure of a lifetime. The wedding was located at a villa called La Collina dei Nebrodi, a very popular family owned vineyard in the Nebrodi mountains. They offer custom services for any couple seeking a romantic wedding in the Sicilian countryside. It’s a must see! We enjoyed a tour and some history about the villa during the rehearsal, had the ceremony overlooking San Marco, drank a lot of wine and danced all night.
The wedding was at the end of September which is the perfect time to visit Italia. The weather is still warm, most of the tourists have left, and flights and accomodations are a bit more affordable than June - August. Cayenne, Luke and their family stayed at the villa all week relaxing in serenity, learning how to cook traditional dishes, and simply enjoying a perfect vacation. I on the other hand explored as much of Italy as I could in 10 days. I visited Milan, Lake Como, Palermo, and Torrenova. My boyfriend and I (aka my designated wedding travel buddy) explored the coast of Sicily by train, admiring the charming coastal villages and the lush mountainside. We ate delicious spaghetti, had the finest wine, stayed in the cutest Airbnbs and did our best at speaking Italian to the locals. It was an adventure of a lifetime and I can say with certainty that Italy is beautiful. The scenery, the architect, the culture and the people were all one of a kind. If you’ve ever thought about having the wedding of your dreams in this lovely country, I say do it! You will have so much fun.
